Transgender awareness day or International Transgender Day of Remembrance Day is an annual day honoring those who have been slain as a result of transphobia. This memorial day was started by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, a transgender women, who wanted to honor her friend, Rita Hester (30 November 1963 - 28 November 1998) a transgender African American woman who was murdered in Allston, Massachusettes on November 28th, 1998 due to transphobia.
In order to honor the transgender women & men that have transitioned; as well as those that are currently alive facing day to day struggles do to the rejection of society's norms...we're providing a safe space of healing and relaxation at commend on November 20th.
Lavender Suarez returns to Commend with another bliss out sound bath session. 7-7:50pm Lavender will DJ ambient records to set the space for relaxation; and from 7:50-9pm Lavender will conduct a meditative sound bath featuring live gong & singing bowl playing (eye masks & pillows recommended for a deeper immersive experience).

Cost is $10 or more donation with a portion of the proceeds supporting Trans Lifeline.
